Overview:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive growth and strengthen relationships within the Agro-Chem and Industrial sectors. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with a proven track record in building commercial and technological partnerships, identifying new opportunities, and expanding market presence.
You will be instrumental in creating and executing strategies that align with our organizational objectives, contributing to revenue growth while fostering long-term partnerships. This position requires a proactive approach and the ability to thrive in a lean, fast-paced environment where collaboration and innovation are key.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new opportunities with Agro-Chem and Industrial customers, leveraging existing networks and industry knowledge.
- Build, monitor, and execute a robust business development pipeline using CRM tools such as Salesforce. Develop comprehensive connections within customer organizations to understand their needs.
- Achieve new sales revenue targets with a focus on maximizing margins. Expand existing customer accounts by increasing the share of wallet and managing account penetration.
- Conduct thorough assessments of strategic accounts, evaluating current share, total opportunities, and competitive presence. Develop high-wide-deep touchpoints within customer organizations.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscapes, and market needs. Share insights with leadership to shape long-term strategies.
- Cultivate and expand a professional network within the Agro-Chem and Industrial sectors to uncover new business opportunities.
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers, ensuring satisfaction and alignment of our offerings with their needs.
- Manage pricing, customer relations, and CRM data to ensure streamlined operations and territory growth.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development, market development, or commercial management within fine chemicals, agro-chemicals, or industrial markets.
- Familiarity with contract research and manufacturing organizations (CRO, CDMO, and CDRMO) is highly desirable.
- Proficient in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and opportunity management processes.
- Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated experience in specialty and fine chemicals, as well as a solid understanding of market dynamics in Agro-Chem and Industrial sectors.

Role Details:
- Regular travel, including onboarding at the North Carolina office, periodic meetings in that office, attendance at trade shows, and customer visits (approximately 40%).
- Base salary of up to $150,000, plus a 15% bonus and profit-sharing potential.
